The aim for Olympioi is to collect the stories about all the ancient Greek gods, heroes and fantastical monsters in one place. Telling their stories in an entertaining and informative way, hopefully hooking new generations on the Greek myths. To ensure that the stories are both accurate and told in an entertaining way I am collaborating with a team of awesome people with great knowledge about Greek mythology.
The idea for the Olympioi website came to me while lying by a pool on the Greek island of Crete. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by the myths of the Greek gods and heroes. Being Norwegian we have some pretty cool myths of our own. Still, a lot of the Norse mythology seems to track back to the ancient Greeks.
So, thinking I had always loved the rich mythology I dove into some audio books, there by the pool. Quickly realizing how little I actually knew I started playing with the idea of collecting it all on a website. While there are many websites out there about Greek mythology, I felt there was room for a slightly different take.
Merging Olympioi.com with Greek-gods.info
We are very happy to share that we are merging out website with another website focused on Greek mythology called Greek-Gods.info Together we hope to be able to bring together an even better view of all the great stories from Greek myths.
